Salsa, bachata, and merengue: on Tuesdays and Saturdays you can join in the classes and the fun at the Le Contrade restaurant in Germignaga. Over the summer, classes there stop, but there's still plenty of dancing to be had - at the Lido in Luino on Sunday evenings, at the Agriturismo near Rancio Valcuvia on Wednesdays (free entrance), and other venues in the zone.

Milan is an hour's drive away. Perfect for a day trip. If it's Swiss chocolate you crave, Casa Lunga is just five kilometres away from the Swiss border... And on Wednesdays, Luino hosts the largest market in Northern Italy, which attracts visitors from as far afield as Germany and Holland.
